Study Leave Application Submitted
The leave application form was submitted to the department yesterday.
Boss approved of the 6 months leave and signed it immediately. But then again, why wouldn't he? Since he's the one who started this ball rolling, he should be glad that I'm taking the initiative to apply for the leave from school next semester. In fact, his comments in the application form included the phrase "I strongly support X's leave".
In order to get the Residence Permit from Sweden, I need to have the leave application approved first. For some unknown reason, they need to know that my leave is approved and have documents to supoprt it. Amazing.
Let's hope the department doesn't dwadle on the decision and approves of the leave soon. I need to get down to the embassy to apply for the residence permit soon. According to the website, they'll need 6 to 8 weeks to decide on the application. 6 to 8 weeks! That's super fast!
In that case, I'll only get the residence permit in December and only after I've confirmed that, should I buy the plane ticket. What a bloody squeeze. There isn't much time for errors. Stupid department. Approve of it already.
All things go well, I'll be away from home-sweet-home from early January next year and will only be back late July or early August.
Can't wait.
